Renewable energy

This project has two goals. The first goal is to supply at least 30% of the building’s electrical energy, by calculating the number of photovoltaic panels and their optimal slope to supply this amount. Also, the investment return period is calculated. The second goal is to provide the 100% of DHW by solar thermal collectors.

Photovoltaic Panel

Through simulations, the annual electricity consumption of the villa is 18841 kWh. So the panels should provide 6000 kWh of electricity. The picture below shows the selected panel data. So, 15 panels with 200W power are needed to provide 30% of electricity consumption.

Solar Thermal Collector

According to the simulations, the annual amount of the DHW is 767.87 kWh. A panel with dimensions of 1.53 x 1.39 square meters is needed to provide hot water for the building.

According to the calculations, the collector produces 875.7 kWh of hot water and has 107 kWh more than the building needs.
